Joint press release: Cooperation on promoting digital transformation and SIM card identity verification with bank accounts/user payment accounts
On 10 December 2025, the National Bank of Cambodia and the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications issued a joint press release on the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation on the promotion of the digital transformation and the verification of SIM cards with user payment accounts.
This Memorandum of Understanding is designed to enhance cooperation between the National Bank of Cambodia and the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications to promote digital transformation in the banking sector and the verification of the identity of users of bank accounts or payment accounts with the identity of the used SIM card.
